C-Tran’s service is changing on Jan. 8 on some routes to increase frequency of buses, match weekend service and expand service of The Current — C-Tran’s on-demand ride-share platform.
C-Tran’s board of directors approved the changes at the Sept. 13 meeting. Before the vote, C-Tran shared the plan at five open houses and completed a service equity analysis.
- Increased frequency: Times on Route 71 will improve to a 20-minute frequency on Saturdays, on Route 74 they will improve to a 30-minute peak frequency on weekdays and on Route 80 times will improve to a 30-minute frequency on weekends.
- Weekend service: One of C-Tran’s goals over the next few years is to equalize weekend service, CEO Shawn Donaghy said at the June 14 board meeting.
On Route 7, one Sunday trip will be added, Saturday and Sunday service will be added to Route 48, a partial weekend trip will be added to both routes 72 and 74 and Route 92 will add two Sunday trips.
- The Current: The Current is expanding service to the Port of Vancouver service zone hours from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and increasing the service area in the Camas/Washougal service zone.
